First Kicks was started in early 2010 by head coach Lee fisher. I'm passionate about youth football and fully qualified to deliver professional and exciting sessions for the children in our local area.
At First Kicks we focus on the technical side of the game, our sessions are structured but taught in a fun way that gets the children engaged into the session. Our coaches have years of experience and we pride ourselves on giving our players an excellent knowledge of the game.
We have devised an excellent coaching programme for all our age groups, increasing the difficulty in the drills as the children get older. We regularly have children start at age two and continue there football journey with us onto club football where we from teams and pass onto Hannakins Farm F.C. I am the football development officer at the main club so you can see we have a clear pathway through the ages. Players reaching 6, 7 and 8 years old are now training with premier league clubs such as Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham so you can see that we are starting to produce quality players that scouts are looking for.
HISTORTY OF FIRST KICKS
I tried to at first enrol my then two year old son onto a soccer course and found the sessions fully booked with a huge waiting list. I watched a session with my son and knew that I could start to coach this young age group and from that point knew that I wanted to form my own soccer school. One month later I started First Kicks at Hannakins Farm in Billericay, originally with 10 children, most from my sons pre school, three years on we have over 150 registered children.
In February 2014 First Kicks teamed up with Hannakins Farm F.C. First Kicks act as the feeder system to the main club and provide our children with a team to join once they reach years one and two. New members now have the opportunity to join us as young as two years old and potentially stay with us right through there footballing career, we have a great set up in place now where we can offer children in the Billericay area qualified coaching at an excellent price with outstanding facilities.
In January 2016 I was appointed youth Development officer at Hannakins Farm Football Club and this job requires me to look after the mini soccer side of the club, I help our new managers and advise on coaching courses and give advice on football matters.
I feel passionate about the development of grass roots football, we have built up a fantastic reputation in the area. Taking on a two year old and seeing them mature and develop into match play gives me enormous satisfaction. Over 100 children have started with us at that tender age and stayed with us to ages 6/7 where they begin regular weekend matches.
We pride ourselves on having a close bond with each child, we want every child to enjoy playing the game and enjoy being around other children forming friendships that will last a lifetime.
I find the coaching challenging but it is definitely rewarding, I love my job. What we offer is an important start to a childs fitness and health in life. It is vital that children exercise early and the benefits are clear to see from professional, structured, organised and most of all FUN sessions.
Having two young boys of my own I can see how football improves so many life skills like social, confidence and motor skills. Watching, playing and now coaching football has taught me key skills and I know what an important part it has played in my life.
We are a developing school, always looking for new ideas, we use coaching methods from other sports to improve what we do. The game of FUTSAL and teaching COERVER skills are key to our sessions, our players love to learn new skills each week
Our aim is to improve each child individually with the emphasis on fun, technical based activity through the beautiful game of football!!!
