The history of First Kicks

In the beginning…

Head Coach, Lee Fisher, first tried to enrol his then two year old son onto a soccer course and found the sessions fully booked with a huge waiting list. He watched a session with his son and knew that he could start to coach this young age group and from that point knew that he wanted to form his own soccer school. One month later Lee started First Kicks at Hannakins Farm in Billericay, originally with 10 children, most from his sons pre school, a decade on and First Kicks are now the leading youth football provider in the area, coaching over 500 children a week.

Hannakins Farm F.C.

In February 2014 First Kicks teamed up with Hannakins Farm F.C. First Kicks act as the feeder system to the main club and provide our players with a team to join once in year two. Children now have the opportunity to join us as young as three years old and potentially stay with us right through the grassroots system. We have a great set up in place where we can offer children in the Billericay area qualified coaching at an excellent price with outstanding facilities.

Our passion

In January 2015 head coach Lee Fisher was appointed youth Development officer at Hannakins Farm Football Club. Lee manages the mini soccer ages at the club, using his 25 years of coaching experience to help players, managers and parents alike. Lee feels passionate about the development of grass roots football, he has built up a fantastic reputation in the area leading to his part time role as academy scout for Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Lees main passion lies in the grassroots game regularly taking on a three year olds and seeing them mature and develop into match play gives him enormous satisfaction.  First Kicks takes pride in having a close bond with each and every child, a child should enjoy playing the game and enjoy being around other children forming friendships that will last a lifetime.

Our mission – Lee Fisher

What we offer is an important start to a child’s health and fitness in life. It is vital that children exercise early and the benefits are clear to see from professional, structured, organised and most of all FUN sessions. All First Kicks coaches, like me are fathers of young children with a passion for the game. We can all see how football improves so many life skills like social, confidence and motor skills.

Watching, playing and now coaching football has taught me key skills and I know what an important part it has played in my life, I want to give something back to the game that has and still gives me so much fun and enjoyment.

We are a developing school, always looking for new ideas, we use coaching methods from other sports to improve what we do. The game of FUTSAL and teaching COERVER technical skills are key to our sessions, our players love to learn new skills each week. Our aim is to improve each child individually with the emphasis on fun, technical based activity through the beautiful game of football!
